Keynotes

I really enjoyed the guest speaker. She was easy to connect with and had a lot of great information to share.
— -Keynote Feedback From: Communicating from the Inside Out Note: The second highest rated element of this In-service day was the nachos served for lunch. Meaning this keynote, was better than nachos.

Let me tell you a story….

I will never forget the first time I walked onto what I would consider a “big stage.” I was at the Grandel Theater to share my story, “Impermanent Joy,” as part of the Mamma Said… St. Louis Event. I’ve been teaching, facilitating, and performing in front of big crowds for years, but this one, was the biggest.

And, like the weirdo I am, I loved it! So naturally, when a client reached out and asked, “do you do keynotes?” I said, “I do now!”

That said, my keynotes are a little different. I know that most people don’t have the attention span to sit and listen for long periods of time to anyone, regardless of how interesting the topic. So, whenever possible, my keynotes involve the audience. Also, like all of the work I do, every keynote is specifically tailored to the needs of the audience and the goals of the organizations.

Storytelling and Research

When I am delivering a talk to a large group, I want to make sure their time is valued. So, while I love to entertain with stories and anecdotes, my focus is always on research-backed skills that the audience can use as soon as they leave the auditorium.

Now Playing: Popular Keynotes

Communicating from the Inside Out: This interactive session focuses on how our internal states can affect how we communicate with others. Skills taught include active listening, preventing defensiveness, and perception checking.

#Reunited: Based on the documentary I made as part of a New Media Storytelling Program, this session focuses on having hard conversations across political and ideological differences while still keeping relationships strong

In the Age of AI, Creativity and Authenticity are King: First delivered at an AI symposium at the University of Science and Technology, this cautiously hopeful session talks about the growing demand for creative, authentic communicators who can make the case for human connection and expression.
